Holztiger figures, animals and trees are carved from maple, oak, birch and beech wood, all edges are softened and handpainted with non-toxic, water-based paint. The grain of the wood is still visible even after painting, so that the full character of the wood is retained.

To make the figures more resistant to perspiration and saliva, there is an additional non-toxic, water lacquer topcoat.
