Fagus is a German toy company specialising in wooden vehicles for children. There are no generic ‘toy trucks’ here though - all the toys fall into different specific collections. All the wooden toys are of exceptional quality. The Büngern-Technik workshop in which Fagus toys are made is a work shop for the handicapped and provides jobs for more than 130 people. Beech is Fagus’ signature wood (Fagus is Latin for beech) and rather than using nails, screws or staples the wooden cars and trucks are interlocked, dowelled and glued together. As well as providing hours of fun for years to come, Fagus toys have an educational value for children. The playing idea behind the cranes, caravans and cars has been well thought out and tested both in theory and practice.
