Do you gift wrap?
All our orders are wrapped where practical in tissue paper and string or ribbon. We try to recycle outer packaging and reuse boxes where ever possible.
How do I order?
To order from Ptolemy Toys is very simple. If you look through our website and see something you would like to buy just click on the "buy now" button and then ‘add to shopping bag’ button to add it to your purchases. If you would like to continue browsing and add more items press the button "back to shops" and when you are ready click on "checkout", where you will be asked for a few important details to complete your order.
On receipt of your order you will be sent an email confirmation. We try very hard to make sure that all our site is correct, but in case we have inadvertently priced goods incorrectly, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product we will let you know as soon as possible. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
When do you charge my card?
It is our standard policy to take payment at the time of dispatch. We accept all credit cards except American Express. If you are shopping from a country outside the UK, place your order as outlined above. Your order will be debited in Sterling and postage will be charged at cost (UK min £5.95, Europe £15, ROW£25) we will let you know how much delivery is before dispatch if in excess of these amounts. Please check with your credit card provider for latest exchange rates and commission fees.
What happens if my itemes are Out of stock?
If your item is out of stock, we will keep your order for that item and send it to you as soon as we receive it. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. We do not intend to charge you for items that are not in stock. Where practical part orders will be dispatched, occasionally it is better to hold the entire order and send it as one package.
What if I want to send items back to you?
Please check all items immediately upon arrival. Some products will vary slightly, eg. hand painted toys may vary. If you are in any way unhappy with your goods, please call us on +44 (0) 1280 843000. You can return all unused items within 14 days for a full refund or an exchange. We cannot refund or exchange used or customer damaged items. With the exception of faulty goods, return postage cannot be refunded and refunds will not be made until the goods have been received. What do Ptolemy Toys do to provide Card Security?
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryptions. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
What is in the The Small Print?
All orders include VAT at the standard UK rate (currently 15%). Overseas orders please note that you may have to pay local import duties on receipt.
All our products have been fully tested to comply with the European Safety Standards and carry the CE mark.
Is there a delivery charge?
Delivery is FREE on orders over £200. For other orders standard UK delivery is £5.00. We review our delivery costs regularly and if we find a more competitive price that still secures the quality and reliability we insist on we will pass this on to you.
Can you send items Overseas?
Yes, delivery on overseas orders is charged at cost price with a £15 minimum for Europe and £25 for the Rest of the World We will let you know the cost before we dispatch the order to you if it is going to be more than our minimum amounts.
What payment methods do you accept?
Accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Electron, Solo, Cheques – we will only debit your card on dispatch of the goods.
Please make cheques payable to Ptolemy Toys Limited – goods will be dispatched once the funds have cleared our account.
How long will delivery take?
If we have your items in stock we will aim to dispatch within 1 to 3 days, where we are waiting for stock to arrive we will let you know your expected delivery date, normally this is between 5 - 10 days. We will do everything we can to get the order out as quickly as possible and we will keep you informed all the time.
Can I place my order over the phone?
Certainly if you wish to call us on 01280 843000 we will be happy to take your order over the phone, you will need your credit card details to hand.
